6.4.14- Year of Sorrow
Year of Sorrow

He looks at you like you mean the world

He said you are the sunshine as it seems

After the cloudy days at stretch

He thinks you are a princess when you fall asleep

And the day he saw you, he fell to his knees

But you are a rigid cliff

Standing before the waves

And you are a shattering promise

Trying to make it home, this time

You don’t call him your prince

Because you still call yourself a Queen

With your eyes stern

Heart fixated

Carrying the ashes of a King

He looks at you like he’ll win.

  1. Such a lovely poem about love and pride. How appropriate is that picture of Cleopatra, it definitely sets the mood for the poem.
